Discover The Golden Dram in Indonesia

Aberfeldy Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the whisky known worldwide as the “Golden Dram,” has officially paved the way for a great introduction to the spirit scene in Indonesia. From 10-12 November 2022, Aberfeldy held an introductory event at Lobo Italian Bistro at The Ritz-Carlton, Jakarta Mega Kuningan. During the 3-day event, Abelferdy introduced their 12, 16, and 21-year-old whisky collection to guests from the food and beverage industry and spirit connoisseurs.

“We are excited to finally showcase Aberfeldy in Indonesia. Aberfeldy is a special whisky with a long-standing history. We believe this collection of single malts will be very suitable for the very vibrant lifestyle here,” said Navin Wazir, Country Manager of Bacardi Indonesia.

History & Heritage

Aberfeldy Distillery was founded by John Dewar & Sons, Ltd. in 1898. Sitting on the eastern outskirts of Aberfeldy, on the southern bank of the upper Tay, Aberfeldy gets its water, rich in alluvial gold, from the Pitilie Burn that feeds the Tay River that runs alongside the distillery.

Aberfeldy’s location in the Central Highland — which is further from the coast and more humid in climate — makes this single malt less fruity but meltier with a honeyed character. The honeyed character later forms the foundation of Aberfeldy blends.

The rare honeyed notes lead the Highland dram to pair very well with honey-based cocktails and create a unique connection between the whisky and the delicious natural resource.

Honeyed Richness in Every Drop

Aberfeldy Single Malt Scotch Whisky collection comprises three age statements: 12-Year-Old, 16-Year-Old, and 21-Year-Old. Each batch of the whisky is distilled in Alembic Copper Pot Stills, crafted by Forsyths in Scotland. Made of copper, the pot stills help Aberfeldy craft a fruity, classic highland style of whisky. Aberfeldy uses the finest oak cask to mature its products to reach a great level of whisky maturity. The whisky lies slumbering in a blanket of oak until it is deemed ready by the Malt Master, Stephanie Macleod. The longer the fermentation process takes in the specific oak cask barrels make Aberfeldy Single Malt Scotch Whisky full of honeyed richness. All Aberfeldy whiskies proudly carry age statements, meaning that whisky connoisseurs would know how long the Aberfeldy’s products have been waiting for that first sip.
