Campari, Italy’s iconic red apéritif, and Imbibe Magazine join forces again on Negroni Week running from 16th to 22nd September 2024 with a global series of events in bars and restaurants supporting charitable partner Slow Food. Celebrating the power of storytelling through creative mixology with Campari at its heart, Negroni Week 2024 will see 315 participating venues all over Indonesia, making Indonesia as Top 10 highest registered markets globally.
In 2023, over 12,000 bars and restaurants across nearly 80 countries participated in Negroni Week 2023, helping raise a combined +$600.000 that has supported an educational scholarship awarded to 24 industry professionals and 17 community-based projects. For Negroni Week 2024, the Negroni Week Fund will continue to be distributed by Slow Food to directly support the hospitality community in helping preserve cultural and biological diversity, promoting food and beverage education with knowledge exchange, and fostering equity and justice.
Celebrating mixology culture across bar and restaurant partners, Campari has further extended its commitment to supporting Negroni Week’s charitable goals by inspiring bartenders and consumers to craft their own stories around the red heart of the world’s best-selling classic cocktail[1]. The Campari Red Hands campaign will see four internationally acclaimed bartenders – Mona Gallosa, Argentina; Tiffanie Barriere, USA; Joe Schofield, UK; Millie Tang, Australia – supporting Negroni Week through four short films celebrating the art of cinema and of mixology. Additionally, Campari partnered with Soho House to host a one-of-a-kind creative film competition for its members in certain countries. Fostering emerging film talent, the competition invited Soho House members to create a short film celebrating the elements of life that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, like Campari transforms the Negroni into an extraordinary cocktail. The winning short film will be aired across some Soho House venues in September to add an extra layer of celebrations to the activation.
In Indonesia, consumers can experience Negroni Week for themselves with more than 300 venues participating. This year’s Negroni Week in Indonesia is more than special as we welcome Tomasso Cecca, Global Head of Camparino Licensing & Mixology, Milano at Da Maria, Bali on 18th September 2024.
Tomasso, with his deep passion for mixology and years of expertise, has a rich background working for several private member clubs. He eventually crossed paths with Roberto Cavalli and helped him to open a unique restaurant that seamlessly combined the worlds of fashion and food. Now, Tomasso is at the helm of Camparino in Galleria, a one-of-a-kind venue located in the heart of Milano. This iconic establishment is a symbol of the city, blending tradition with innovation. Camparino in Galleria is renowned as the ultimate destination for the Milanese Aperitivo experience and has become a global trendsetter in this ritual.
At Da Maria, Bali for one night only, Tomasso is set to showcase a Negroni cocktail that is crafted to perfection, showcasing his unparalleled skills in mixology. To sum up this outstanding week, Negroni Week closing party will be held on 22nd September 2024 along with the beautiful sunset at Desa Potato Head, Bali; an oceanside hub of creativity where music, art, design, food and wellness play together.
Michele Porta, Global Channel and Customer Marketing Sr. Director, commented: “We’re thrilled to be seeing bartenders and consumers embracing the Negroni Week celebrations once again this September. Negroni Week is a global initiative that is aimed also at supporting a fair and sustainable future for the hospitality and beverage industry through the Slow Food Negroni Fund. For this 12th edition, we will be supporting the fundraising by inviting people to celebrate the stories that our amazing bartenders partners have created with Campari at the heart. With Imbibe, we raise our glasses to another successful Negroni Week!”
